STANDARDS OF PRACTICE
All members of the association are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and competence in the practice of dental technology.
Members must work strictly within their individual scope of practice and capabilities, in full compliance with any applicable restrictions or conditions. They are responsible for maintaining current knowledge and skills in dental technology and are expected to pursue continual professional development as new procedures and equipment emerge. Practitioners must assume full responsibility for all services they provide or delegate, ensuring that any personnel under their supervision operate within the established guidelines and bylaws of the association. Practicing Dental Technicians must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and competent application of general laboratory procedures, dental materials, and equipment relevant to the fabrication of dental prostheses. They should also possess a thorough understanding of dental physiology, tooth morphology, and related pathological conditions. Furthermore, they are expected to apply sound principles of business and laboratory management in their operation.
